Good scary game? - Badge - Apr 11, 2025
Any recommendations? I've played the typical Outlasts/RE and a few others, just curious if anyone is interested in this type of genre or has some good picks!

One of my personal favourites would have to be Layers of Fear. It's not for everyone but the best way to describe it is like an Amnesia game but without being perma chased the entire time. You should definitely check it out.

I forgot to mention Silent Hill P.T This is by far the scariest game I have played but unfortunately it was cancelled and never completed. There is a demo version out there, please play it first!

Wouldn't really call it a good horror personally, the tension/anxiety for the inevitable jump scare doesn't make it pleasing for me. Great game to play with friends though.

Amnesia: The Bunker is really hard and scares the crap out of you when your trying to hide from the stalker.

For an Amnesia game it wasn't really that scary in my opinion. The bunker focusses a lot more on tension and game mechanics. There aren’t any cheap jump scares or random scripted shit. It reminds me a lot like the Alien Isolation game. The problem I have once you face the monster multiple times it just becomes generic and not scary at all.
I believe a lot of people became frustrated over time rather than scared.
Silent Hill P.T is the scariest game to ever exist, prove me wrong. 🙃

That game was horrifying, just casually kept walking through the halls then you see a fridge or something swinging from the ceiling or the woman just standing😭

Nah man not yet, just going to download it right now. I did notice there was a 2016 version and a newer one also a sequel

Yeah, the 2016 version is my favourite. The second one was ok but wasn't too fond on it.

The game isn't scary it's just gory and gruesome. I would rather play Dead Space than Evil Within again.
