Beginner group learning - StinkButt420 - May 14, 2025 Hello. When I started here on the forum, I actually tried this same concept, but it didn't work out. It's been long enough that this wouldn't be considered spam, so I'm trying my hand again. I want to have a "book club" of sorts, for learning hacking/pentesting/general cyber security. I have a chat with 3 others who are doing the same thing I'm doing. We're all NOOBS all things considered, and I want more people involved. Other guys with our same skill would be nice. One of the ideas I was given by our newest guy, I actually really want to try. And I was thinking 3 people wasn't enough. I want 5. What's the idea? We sit in a VC, and we try to work through a box together, using walkthroughs the least amount possible, and all of us kind of work through it like an episode of House. Since we're all noobs though, I expect to need a write up anyway. Surely this idea isn't new, but it just occurred to me the other day. And I think the idea of this is pretty appealing for anyone serious/passionate. It could benefit your communication, team work, get you some first hand experience in problem solving with others, all pretty beneficial for this field. So, if anyone here is listening, and interested, if you're a beginner too, and want to at least know some other guys in your shoes, come join us, and talk to us. And if you have questions feel free to ask on HF RE: Beginner group learning - DramaKing - May 14, 2025 (May 14, 2025 08:42 AM)Bastille Wrote: They do the same every week for french communities (virtually), and they also organized an IRL meetup in Paris in a bar 2 years ago, that was really cool to meet people IRL. This year I'm going to try to make it to a HTB conference. I don't have anything of value to provide, so I don't think I'd ever go to a convention like Defcon or a HTB event. Or a CTF. Not yet at least. I could provide a mighty playlist maybe...
