All you need is python 3 installed on your computer and the python package manager PIP3. Development also becomes a lot easier if you are familiar with the unix-based terminal on mac. If you want to learn rapidly it can be good for beginners to “learn by doing” and making a project they’re interested in, and if you need to learn the fundamentals “learnpython.org” is a good resource.

ah thx 👍 what is the "unix-based terminal on mac"? How do I learn to use it?

(sorry stupid questions I know) never programmed just getting into it etc. Someday I want to learn how to make bots etc.

Leetcode was really useful for me to improve my coding skills. Personally, I always struggle to find suitable tasks to improve my skills, but solving leet code questions and checking stackoverflow for help really helped me.

If you don't know any basics yet, I can recommend YT videos to get used to the language and its concepts.

If you want interactive + free:
https://docs.python.org/3/tutorial/ – starts from zero and stays current .
https://www.codecademy.com/learn/learn-python-3 – browser-based labs, instant feedback .
https://www.coursera.org/learn/python – video + quizzes, audit track is free .
If you prefer books:
“Automate the Boring Stuff with Python” – practical scripts, free HTML version .
“Python Crash Course” – fast-paced projects, great second step .
For practice / challenges:
https://leetcode.com – algo/data-struct problems .
https://github.com/gregmalcolm/python_koans – learn via TDD .
Pick one course + one book + daily Koans/LeetCode and you’ll be solid in ~6 weeks.

Along with leetcode, I would also recommend getcracked.io and codecademy. Both are great resources for learning. Also, keep an open mind, don't fixate on 'making bots' otherwise you are doomed to fail before you begin.
