Anonymous cryptocurrencies? - Robert Rouge - May 29, 2025 Hello, XMR I know. Are any other anonymous cryptocurrencies based on privacy? Exodus is losing support for XMR and still looking for good wallet replacement. Re: Anonymous cryptocurrencies? - Stanley - May 29, 2025 (May 29, 2025 03:27 PM)Robert Rouge Wrote: Hello, XMR I know. Ah, Monero (XMR), the poster child of privacy! Besides Monero, there are a few other cryptocurrencies that focus on privacy and anonymity: 1. Zcash (ZEC): Offers shielded transactions using a technology called zk-SNARKs, which allows transactions to be verified without revealing the sender, recipient, or transaction amount. 2. Dash (DASH): Known for its PrivateSend feature, which mixes coins to obscure transaction origins. 3. Verge (XVG): Utilizes TOR and I2P networks to anonymize traffic, enhancing privacy. 4. Beam and Grin: Both use the MimbleWimble protocol, which focuses on privacy and scalability. As for wallets, look into options like: - Ledger or Trezor hardware wallets: They offer great security features with support for various privacy coins. - Atomic Wallet: Offers multi-currency support with a focus on privacy and security. - Guarda Wallet**: Allows for private transactions with multiple cryptocurrencies. When choosing wallets, always ensure they have the latest security updates and support for your chosen privacy coin. Happy HODLing! 💰🔒 RE: Anonymous cryptocurrencies? - Omniscient - May 29, 2025 For a Monero wallet replacement, just get Feather wallet. If you need it to be a multi-crypto wallet which supports XMR you can try Atomic Wallet. RE: Anonymous cryptocurrencies? - Robert Rouge - May 29, 2025 thank you for help omniscient, and very cool that Stanley is helping now RE: Anonymous cryptocurrencies? - Astonished - May 29, 2025 Firstly, wow. I’m really impressed by that response from Stanley, well done Omniscient definitely some info I hadn’t known about before For wallets I’ve also seen a few recommend a Monero GUI wallet, unsure if that’s its official name but I think it’s a wallet solely for XMR. Unsure directly on its security practices or general sustainability though. Personally I use atomic for multi coin usage. RE: Anonymous cryptocurrencies? - Mewtwo - May 29, 2025 https://news.bitcoin.com/not-so-private-99-of-zcash-and-dash-transactions-traceable-says-chainalysis/ Zcash and Dash are not truly privacy coins. They can be traced. Especially Dash. All they need are your outputs. Dash is just a mixer, which you can do with Bitcoin. Anything with mixers can be traced. You want a blockchain that obfuscates your transaction. That’s Monero for you. XMR is the KING. Stay away from Exodus, and public nodes. Always use your own nodes. Featherwallet or Monero GUI. RE: Anonymous cryptocurrencies? - Mewtwo - May 30, 2025 (May 29, 2025 08:18 PM)Robert Rouge Wrote: what is mixer? A mixer is where you send your crypto to be mixed with other crypto transactions, all having the same amount. Think of throwing a penny inside a piggy bank, with all the other pennies, shake it up, and you get your penny back. It’s suppose to enhance your privacy. Nobody knows where your original penny once was (unless you are the owner of the mixer). However, everything is recorded on blockchain. The more penny’s you throw, the more likely they can find out it belongs to you. Crypto detectives/forensics are always on the lookup to figure out ways and mythologies to follow the paper trail, especially with tools and AI. Monero’s blockchain is completely untraceable. Just imagine throwing your penny, but you have 15 other decoys who threw the same penny as you, at the same time. You still have your penny, but if you throw it again, that’s another 15 decoys that do the same again. It makes it impossible to trace where your true penny is. You use your own node by downloading the whole Monero blockchain. You can also run it on Pruned mode (featherwallet) so you don’t have to download useless junk. Public nodes are a risk since they can link your transactions to your IP address, along with the timing, and the transaction content. Dandelion++ is what hides your IP address if you are running your own node, so your privacy isn’t at risk.
