🎵 Suggestion: Add Profile Songs to HF Profiles?
Hey guys,
I recently made a plugin that lets users add a profile song to their account — works with Spotify, YouTube, TIDAL, and Deezer.
You just paste a track link in UserCP, get a live preview, and the song shows up on your profile as an embedded player.
Not sure if this kind of thing would fit Hack Forums, but I figured I'd throw it out there.
What do you think, guys?
Would adding a profile song feature to HF be a cool touch or just unnecessary?
✅ What it supports:
- Spotify, YouTube, Deezer, TIDAL
- Live preview before saving
- Simple and clean design
- No core edits – fully plugin-based
I already have it working, just curious if people would actually want this kind of thing added here.
Would you use it?

yes like a specific menu in usercp for adding music and ion profile it will have speicific place for song.more details https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6304377

Considering you can already just throw a song in your bio, and I don't think your design would fit HF's current theme, I'd say it's not really worth adding, but let's see what other people think.

Thanks for the input. If the owner ever wants to implement it, I can redesign it to match HF’s theme perfectly.

I swear it's pretty much already implemented, on users BIOS you can add music like mine.

But I think maybe he means that the song will autoplay when you view user's profile, a bit like a tumblr format? Not too sure though.

So if you click on your name at top left, then where it says "My bio box" on the right hand side you have the "..." click that then add a song from yt/sc with the code

You can embed either a Youtube video (song) or even Soundcloud into your profile.
Nobody should force music to be played when a web page opens. That's just rude.

Agreed autoplay is annoying. We can just disable it. Also, would be cool to support Spotify embeds too!

You can now embed spotify, just paste the link to track|album|playlist|artist|show|episode.
