thoughts on element as a communication app - quandoronks - Aug 12, 2025 hey, i was wondering if element is the right approach for malicous talks, plans etc does it do what it offers or is it straight lie and if so what approach will be better and why? RE: thoughts on element as a communication app - Oh_Well - Aug 12, 2025 I have used Element for a few years. It's pretty nice - straightforward and doesn't even require email or phone number. You can set up secure sessions for individual chats or groups, so not only the chat is E2E encrypted, but it only allows message viewing from certain devices/ips. For example, if you've set up a secure session, talk from your desktop and switch to your phone, you won't be able to view the messages. It's definitely worth checking out. I wouldn't trust the calls though (in any app), not because Element is vulnerable but because your device could be.
