Researchers Warn of Sitecore Exploit Chain Linking Cache Poisoning and Remote Code E

Three new security vulnerabilities have been disclosed in the Sitecore Experience Platform that could be exploited to achieve information disclosure and remote code execution.
The flaws, per watchTowr Labs, are listed below -

CVE-2025-53691 - Remote code execution (RCE) through insecure deserialization

That exploit chain is nasty, cache poisoning leading straight into RCE makes Sitecore installs a big target. Definitely one to patch ASAP.

Three vulnerabilities, that all can lead to possible information disclosure and remote code execution.. sounds like 3 vulnerabilities that need to be patched ASAP. Remote code execution could lead to some nasty outcomes when in the wrong hands.

These new flaws show how one weak point can lead to bigger risks. Better to fix them now than deal with a breach later.

This chain allows attackers to compromise even fully patched Sitecore instances, assuming the API is exposed.

The fact that patches were released months ago and people are still vulnerable is shocking.
There is zero excuse for ignoring updates.
