What happens if Bitcoin reaches $1 million?

A $1-million Bitcoin would upend global finance, reshaping wealth, inflation, energy markets and the very role of fiat currencies.

Totally possible. I think it will happen someday. I'm not sure about 2030 as some suggest.

Quote:Did you know? Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, is believed to hold about 1.1 million BTC, around 5.2% of the total supply. At $1 million per Bitcoin, this would make Satoshi’s holdings worth an estimated $1.1 trillion.

Just don't need him rugging.

This article makes me think about social consequences too. Would extreme wealth concentration create a new class divide between crypto-rich and everyone else?

The question is how much will fiat (USD/GBP) be worth if Bitcoin reaches $1m one day.

Imo for BTC to reach one million it should be well integrated in modern sociality. Would that not make crypto-rich just rich?

Imo If BTC reaches $1m, it would signify a global shift where it becomes a major financial pillar, creating immense wealth for early investors, and challenging the dominance of traditional currencies and institutions.. Would be very interesting!

It's not a matter of IF, but a matter of when. Just based on it's scarcity (limited supply).

I been saying BTC to $1m and even $10m for years.

It will happen, I have no doubt. It could be 3 years to $1m or it could be 10 years. But it's coming. And it will shake up the global financial system.

I don't think it's going to create any different of a disparity in wealth than we already have. If anything, it's going to force those who are fiat rich to convert to BTC and make the sellers wealthy.

AI says globally there are 58m millionaires. Those with 1 BTC are going to join the ranks. AI says there are 900k wallets with at least 1 BTC in it.

US Dollar is gonna take the worst of it. It's been ruined with inflation and debt for a few decades now and its dominance is about to end. All fiat currency eventually fail. Except this time it won't be replaced with another fiat.

Historically there is about a 100 year pattern for a currency before it falters due usually to debt and inflation.

AI Quote: Here’s the historical sequence of the world’s dominant reserve currencies before the U.S. dollar:

Past 5 Dominant Reserve Currencies

1. US Dollar (USD) — 1944–present

Rose after World War II with the Bretton Woods system.
Still the dominant reserve currency today, though its share has declined somewhat in recent decades.

2. British Pound Sterling (GBP) — early 1800s–1944

Dominant during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Supported by the British Empire’s vast trade networks and financial system centered in London.

3. French Franc (FRF) — 18th century–early 19th century

Particularly strong under Napoleon and France’s influence in Europe.

4. Dutch Guilder (NLG) — 17th–18th centuries

Backed by the Dutch Republic’s global trade dominance and the Amsterdam financial markets.

5. Spanish Silver Real / “Pieces of Eight” — 16th–17th centuries

Minted from New World silver, it circulated widely in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Was so dominant that it influenced the creation of the U.S. dollar.

📌 Summary Timeline:
16th–17th c. → Spanish Real
17th–18th c. → Dutch Guilder 18th–early 19th c. → French Franc
19th–mid-20th c. → British Pound
* 1944–present → U.S. Dollar

BTC might reign for 1000+ years or maybe it will follow the same pattern and just be 100 years. Won't matter to me, I'm getting in on the next wave.

Buy Bitcoin, hold, and STFU!

I think it's definitely possible to hit $1M in the future

When I look at other assets with trillion dollar+ values, and the small amount of value or utility they provide.. it makes sense that we could see a 10x spike in value for BTC. It actually provides a lot of value to the world

It'll take some changes with investor beliefs, but if anyone looks at certain stocks on NASDAQ, I think they can easily make a case for why BTC and other crypto is technically undervalued (by investors).
