Anyone lose their OG Minecraft accounts in the Microsoft migration? - jasonust - Sep 21, 2025
Curious if anyone here lost access to their old Mojang/OG Minecraft accounts during the forced Microsoft migration. I’ve been hearing mixed stories — some people got locked out, others managed to transfer fine, and a few say their recovery attempts hit a wall.
Did anyone here actually lose their OGs in the migration?
If so, was there any way you were able to recover or appeal successfully?
Or are those accounts basically gone for good once Microsoft locks you out?
I figured this community might have some firsthand experiences. Share your stories if you went through it — I’m wondering if it was widespread or just unlucky cases.

When u did forget to migrate u can’t get it back rn, but as I know Microsoft/Mojang got sued bcs of that, bcs a lot of people lost their money this way..

I didn't lose an OG account, but I lost my main account and an alt because it let me transfer both to one email (I wasn't paying attention), and as a result, Minecraft is just like welp, since there are two accounts on this email, there is no account on this email.

I lost mine from 2010. The only thing I could think about is contacting support but with the recent changes made over the years to the game, this might be a tad difficult.

Recovery’s really tough 😓 unless you still have access to the original email or payment info. Otherwise, once Microsoft locks it, it’s pretty much gone.

Couldn't even tell you. I had an OG account for Minecraft, but hadn't touched it in so many years and while I could probably do some digging to find out what the info for it was and what else it was connected to, I just don't care enough to do so lol.

Now that you mention it i think i lost my accounts aswell
have not touched minecraft since at least 2020

I lost quite a lot of accounts, but none of the good ones that I truly cared about.

Well on the bright side if you haven't touched the game since 2020 then it shouldn't matter to you much if at all to lose the account 😆

if i ever wanna play minecraft again i could probably buy an account for cheap now a days

Yeah I lost a couple, I had the one by Notifications was ign I was trying to sell it recently until I couldn't recovery it or secure the details
