ive seen alot of website defacements and i know it is probably done with xss if im not wrong, so what else do you need to do to deface the ENTIRE website like not some file upload bs [warn]

In order to "deface" a website, you need to gain permission to modify the document root. What do you mean by "not some file upload bs"?
You should try to calm down instead of defacing websites like a script kiddie. lol

Yep.. so, the 2 most popular ways are XSS and SQLi (SQL Injection)
It is very common in outdated websites, software, nulled copies, etc..
You will find exploits and vulnerabilities in wordpress plugins, forum plugins, etc..
That is where I would start researching!
