Would you prefer to live 100 years from now or 100 years from now? - Yanix - Oct 3, 2025

Just think, you could travel into the future or the past of a hundred years. You would see history from an up-close perspective, some easier times, and hopefully, a more relaxed pace of life if you were living one hundred years ago. However, a hundred years in the future could be spectacular with technological advances, new discoveries and new learning about the world beyond what you could even imagine.

Imagine what you could learn, who you could meet and what you could experience. Even with the future's uncertainty and the infinite possibilities it could bring, the past can ground you with its roots and memories.

Each option has its own excitement and risk. Which would you choose, and why?

I think I would want to live 100 years from now. Hopefully if we didn't end up killing ourselves or the planet I would be able to explore a more futuristic lifestyle and maybe even other planets.

I think the past get romanticized too much. Id rather jusmp ahead 100 years. We seem to be gaining new tech exponentially faster evry decade.

Maybe shit went sideways and it turned into a robot society. Where the remaining humans are cyborgs. And we are fightingting for cyborg rights against the big machine. But we are just a bunch of flesh clankers, no rights to vote. Drinki g from seperate oil fountains.

Living 100 years from now could be incredible, as long as we protect our planet first. I’m curious about the inventions and discoveries that await us. It’s thrilling to imagine, though there are definitely challenges and risks ahead.

That’s one way to imagine the future! Robots and cyborgs running the world sounds intense. I just hope humans still get to enjoy life without too much clanking around.

Def not without risk! For all we know we end up in a world where AI Ants have taken over and are vengeful on humans for stepping on top of them for all these years.

That's both really scary and at the same time, quite funny! Just picture trying to negotiate ants angry with robot brains. I would certainly be walking much more carefully everywhere.

That sounds amazing! Imagine swapping bodies or skills just like in Altered Carbon. Life in a cyberpunk city would never be boring.

Absolutely, live forever and when you are done, sign an agreement to never get spun up again.

Living forever would be wild. Signing an agreement to never come back is kind of reassuring. At least you’d get a proper break.

I like that plan! It’s like scheduling your own second chance. Definitely a thoughtful approach.
