Substitute Teacher Cited After Bringing Cocaine to School, Police Say.
A 47-year-old substitute teacher at an elementary and middle school in Vermont has been issued a citation after bringing cocaine to the campus.
Police identified the woman as Melissa Martin, a "permanent substitute teacher."

"Martin had admitted to school administration that she had cocaine in her jacket pocket, which was located in the classroom she had been teaching in."

Brittany, a mother whose son was in Martin's classroom, told the station, "He looked visibly shaken and upset and I asked what had happened today and he said that his substitute teacher was clearly on drugs and was acting crazy. Those were his exact words."

Child endangerment, this should not be a simple citation.

All school teachers and staff should be required to do drug tests twice per year chosen at random times by computer, unless suspected by other teachers or school staff then mandatory immediate testing should be done.

I know some will hate this idea and chant about rights, it's too much, blah blah bullshit I do not give a fuck if you are directly working with children you need to be held to a higher standard, as a result you should also be paid more because lets face it teachers don't get paid enough but fuck your feelings when it comes to making sure those around children are not on drugs that potentially puts them in danger.

Brittany claimed the teacher thought her son was her pet dog. Martin said to him, 'Hey Teddy, why are you off your leash?' and my son was like, what?" It was later revealed that Teddy is the name of Martin's dog.

The superintendent of the Barre Unified Union School District, Joan Canning, said "He did the right thing following her out of the classroom and raising the alarm, and that is part of the curriculum. If you hear something, you're concerned about something, you say something."

That's nutty

I can't imagine bringing cocaine to work, let alone to a school job, let alone actually using cocaine... while teaching.

Apparently I think it's rare? I read online it doesn't usually cause hallucinations.

I may be wrong, but it could be the equivalent of a 'brain fart' where they didn't actually see their dog, but the kids name was their dogs name, and the wires got crossed. This is much more common than full on hallucinating.
