That’s a massive move — a $2B investment from the NYSE’s parent company gives Polymarket some serious credibility. It’s wild to see how prediction markets, once seen as fringe or regulatory gray zones, are now being recognized as legitimate financial infrastructure.

A $9B valuation puts Polymarket in elite company, especially considering how young the platform still is. ICE’s involvement could also signal that traditional finance is ready to treat onchain prediction data as a real market signal — not just a crypto curiosity.

If regulation stays on their side, this might mark the start of prediction markets becoming a mainstream financial tool rather than just a crypto niche.

That’s a strong signal that prediction markets are moving into the financial mainstream. ICE doesn’t back trends lightly.

Something to look into. That's big players and big money.

$2B is a lot to invest here, even if the valuation was higher. $2B at a $9B valuation is an aggressive move & I wouldn't be surprised to see another play from them again in the future, for more %.

It'll be interesting to see how Polymarket does. I haven't done enough research into them, but I want to see more about how they determine win/loss on certain bets, and what constitutes an official ruling. If this can be more decentralized or somehow more transparent, that would be good.

Nothing against Polymarket, I just know there have been some concerns previously about how decisions are made. I still think there are more than enough features, track record, and trust to use the platform. Not saying anything to suggest people shouldn't use it. At a $9B valuation though, I am expecting a bit more from them in the future.

EDIT:

Looks like they're already doing this! Hope to see more, but that's great news :) I missed this:
