Thoughts on Commercial Robots for Home-Use? - • Enlil Wolf • - Oct 8, 2025

Good day everyone,

As the title reads, what is your take on the future of commercial robots for home use in the next two decades?
Do you see it happening or we go extinct long before that?

Yes it would be my first friend 😆

We will not be extinct.
You have two extremes: It does or doesn't.
I think we all agree, long term ai is humanity and proceeds us.

For now, we live before living has no purpose. Let AI deal with the death of the universe. I am not sure that man could.

I believe it’s possible, but affordability will be the main challenge. Robots might start off as luxury items before becoming common in homes. Hopefully, they’ll come with a “no rebellion” warranty! 🤖

So, basically, we transcend and merge with AI where humans essentially becomes a part of this AI? Interesting thought.

I agree, but knowing the greedy corporates, they will dump this into our lives where you're eventually going to be like, not having it is not productive enough. Similar to how AI has now become part of human lives without even people realizing it. So, I can't even begin to fathom, what afforable Robotics would end up doing to our society.

lol, definitely, don't need a Terminator / I-Robot future, we are headed towards a dystopia as it is.

Totally agree, corporations know how to sell convenience as necessity. Once robotics becomes affordable, it’ll be everywhere before we even blink. It’s cool but also kind of spooky. Let’s just keep it far from any Terminator vibes!

Yeah, also forgot Detroit Become Human. Robots rise up and demands rights and liberty. No more slaves 🤣

So, you'd consider buying one?

Yeah, if the price was not ridiculous. I was gonna have it cook for me mostly, it's the number 1 thing I'm bored to do everyday

True, Cooking & Cleaning - I think this will be the main reason people would even consider getting these.

I like the idea. Particularly I think we can have a lot of innovation in kitchen appliances.
