Smartest thing you bought with crypto? - Hackers - Oct 9, 2025

What is the SMARTEST purchase you've made with crypto?

For me... Dumping most of my crypto around $100k+ BTC price and going into RGTI, QBTS and then IONQ & QUBT for quantum buys.

This then led to a series of extremely lucky wins elsewhere in LiDAR, defense, AI, and other tech.

I keep harping on this because quantum is up over 4000% in some cases in the last year, compared to BTC which is only at $120k+ currently. The ups & downs on BTC allows for a lot of swing trading and buy/sell loops... But I do not regret this decision at all. I have gotten back into crypto, but my main interests are elsewhere still.

Overall this was my best move yet - specifically for crypto. Getting out & using crypto to fund the new portfolio was my best investment move to date. I did get higher % returns on crypto, but the amount of money I put into the stock market at the end of 2024 and start of 2025 (and since) has led to far bigger gains by dollar amount.

Gold and silver. Which I just said in another thread as my dumbest buy as well. It's honestly both.

Gold and silver are up and had I wasted my early Bitcoin on something frivolous or just converted to fiat I'd be having way more regret. Happy to have the value I have.

I'm a bit of a shopaholic, I'm lucky I didn't waste every BTC I had.

Also smart, I bought TSLA with my income and it's gone up very well. So maybe two things. Basically since 99% of my income is crypto everything I do financially is related.

Makes sense, and yeah I think no matter how you look at it, there can always be regrets.

You could go 10,000% on something and then miss out on a 2000% elsewhere and face a crash instead. You'd be ahead, but there will always be something that you could've done. nobody times things perfectly

Based on your other post yesterday about diversifying, I am assuming you're making the best choices for you & your family, even if there could've been more profit in other ways. That's how I look at it at least. I have what I have because each mini decision was the right decision for me at the time, even if another decision could've been much more profitable.

I didn't jump in with a crypto miner once... Instead I stayed freelancing and went on to build a $1M business which helped me launch my career at other companies. This is a profit that will never show up in my crypto or stocks TA.

As I get older I'm torn between protecting assets and knowing my time is limited to secure enough for my retirement. I actually don't plan on retiring or ever stop working but you never know circumstances. Heart attack, stroke, or disease can take you out of the workforce.

You're a lot younger than my dad but he has similar thoughts. He just can't take on as much risk as he used to be able to.

That's what I mean though... some things cannot be priced.
Peace of mind for the next 30-40 years might be worth more to you than potential profits / losses.

Speaking of time.... HF Century Award for 100 years on the forum? Any interest?
I plan to replace or rejuvenate my organs, bones, cells, and brain one day and am aiming for 1,000.
I might not make it, but I'd be happy with 200+
