What was your first gray or black hat project? What did you learn from it?
I mean, you tried to hack a website, developed a virus, a hacking tool or something...
I've been curious about it, it's common to ear a lot of people talking about hacking and pentesting, but oc it's not that easy.
Besides webs like HTB that are for practice, I would like to know how have been the path from the beginning (in this case the first "project") of someone is or used to be a grey or black hat.

I would add a story here if I wore one of those hats and wanted to incriminate myself. Some people here act like nothing they say here can be held against them.

oh, sorry, I did not meant that way. I'm not asking about names, times nor something that could be so specific. It was more like "I broke into my school website coz I wanted to look if I could find something" or "I developed a malware to make fun of a friend"
Projects that now you can say were stupid but in that time you took that seriously

Never been involved in such things, trying to stay on the good side of hacking, with the white hats, even if sometimes I would like to hack some lawyers and judges that protect criminals and things like that. I think that would be considered as grey-hat, but to me it's still white hat 😊

okok, I see. Yeah, the grey-hat line can be in different places depending on each person and their moral.
I appreciate your post, even if not is a project it is something you would like to do.
