By staying up so long I can't move anymore

With my HVAC job, I worked a lot of hours and by the time I got home I was naturally exhausted. I'd literally fall asleep within 2 minutes once my head hit the pillow, my wife was jealous.

What's your normal day look like?

Usually bang my head against the wall until I feel just the right aount of dizzy, by that point the people upstaris are screaming at me to stop, so their yells put me into a nice state of mind for rest.

Does it happen frequently for you or just one odd? If it's frequent then you might need to check up with a Doctor.

I personally never had trouble sleeping. I sleep around my regular sleep time and I make sure I'm somewhat tired mentally and physically by the time I go to sleep.

If you've had a busy day and woken up early you shouldn't have a hard time falling asleep. The noise of a fan always helps me ease my mind and help.

I always watch movies or series and fall asleep. I choose movies or series that are not that interesting, otherwise it would raise my attention and it would be counter productive.

If you're struggling to sleep, my psychologist told me that you shouldn't stay in your bed, and instead you should go out of the bed and do something, and of course avoid things like screens or stuff that stimulate you too much. A good idea is to read books.

At the end, when I'm really struggling, the easy but not the healthiest solution : a pill of xanax, works like a charm

If you do not suffer from psychological illnesses such as insomnia, depression, or overthinking... this means that your body needs physical effort in order to be able to sleep at night.

I have always struggled to sleep similar to you. Being tired but can't fall asleep.

Mine is directly related to anxiety and my mind won't shut up.

If you want to take anything for it Melatonin/Magnesium is stuff you can buy off the shelf and very safe.

An active day is important for you body and mind. Consider adding strenuous workouts to your routine.
Exhaust yourself during the day.
Also when in bed just practice breathing and counting breathes. And only that. Block any noise.

I usually will end up rolling over once or twice and then I'm out. Don't sleep in a hot room, don't sleep on hot sheets, and for me drinking a cold water before bed helps.

I’m a light sleeper and don’t need much sleep.

I will have days that I crash though
