Question for non-US users on HF: What do you think of USA (NO POLITICS!) ? - Hackers - Oct 14, 2025

Please, lets keep this thread free of all current politics.
> There are plenty of other topics that aren't "political" in nature.

For non-US users only, what do you think of the USA?
What are your perceptions of it?
Do you know many Americans? What do you think of them?

I am genuinely curious, and am not looking to argue. Feel free to tell me we're all fat and greedy, or sexy and sweet - either is fine. I want to know how people view us from outside.

Don't give up on the dream. All things are temporary. The America today is not the America of the 1990s, or the 2000s, and even the start of 2001 and end of 2001 are drastically different.

Countries change over time, drastically.

I hope you can visit or even live here one day!!

I haven't! I have been to Africa twice if you count part of Egypt, but not SA. I'd love to go to SA. My family was in SA a few years ago and loved it, but some of the water problems were noticeable. We have some family friends still out there, and some others that left SA for USA a while ago. Always wanted to visit personally...

I'll come scoop ya!

I think of it as a country which has the greatest diversity in the world. No matter what, I think I can find absolutely anything I need there. A country with endless possibilities. As for people, I kinda imagine u as very talkative ones. Like u can make friends and strike up convos whenever u want. So u r a pretty cool countryโœŒ๐ŸฟโœŒ๐ŸฟโœŒ๐ŸฟโœŒ๐Ÿฟ
