Ever notice how fast a whole year disappears once October hits? - jasonust - Oct 16, 2025
It’s like the second Halloween decorations show up, time just folds in half. One moment it’s pumpkin spice, next thing you know it’s fireworks and “see you next year.”
Every year I tell myself I’ll slow down and actually enjoy it — but between work, deadlines, and random chaos, it’s like the last quarter of the year just speedruns itself.
Anyone else feel that weird acceleration the closer it gets to the holidays?
Or is that just adult life sneaking up with a timer none of us agreed to?

I was thinking about that yesterday. I feel like it was just a few weeks ago I was putting up decorations last year.

Heh, time flies when you're having fun they say.
There are also entire conspiracy theories designed around the concept of time moving quicker than in the past.
I don't buy into these, but they're interesting to say the least.
Time is a cool thing.
I think people have been saying it flies for a long time. The US' first real penny specifically mentions it

Love the Fugio cent for a number of reasons :)
Time flies & we are all one
My wife and I looked back at our long engagement like holy shit, how did time go so quickly? Almost a decade together now.

Definitely. Same feeling for summer, it feels like I was sunbathing and partying in July like 2 weeks ago. :/

Totally, time flies once October arrives.
The end of the year is closer than it feels.
