Peanut Allergies Have Plummeted in Children, Study Shows - RangoWorld - Oct 20, 2025

A landmark study that proved feeding peanut products to young babies could prevent the development of life-threatening allergies has made a big difference a decade on.

About 60,000 children have avoided developing peanut allergies after guidance first issued in 2015 upended medical practice by recommending introducing the allergen to infants starting as early as four months, a new study published Monday in the medical journal Pediatrics suggests.

“That’s a remarkable thing, right?” said Dr David Hill, an allergist and researcher at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and author of a study.

I think children should be tested for stuff like this asap, this way we can then build up ways to make it so it can be avoided. When I was young I couldnt have milk. To this day I cant really have to much but its slowly getting more and more and it shows us that we can build up a great immunity to it if we have it in moderation.

Absolutely. You know this reminds me of elders method in old time where they would expose children to extremes like cold, mud/dirt and farms. To make their immune system strong. We don't do that anymore in cities.

That is genuinely wonderful news, and it is amazing to see such a huge, life saving impact from one piece of medical research. I have heard about this study before, and it is fantastic that so many children have benefited from the change in feeding guidance. Is this new paper the first time they have officially published this huge success number?
