Favorite Classic Games - Jinu - Oct 21, 2025

Hello everyone, I’ve been feeling nostalgic lately and wondering about everyone’s favorite classic games. Whether it’s board games, card games, or old video games, the classics always have a special charm.

Which game do you keep coming back to, and why does it stay special for you?

I don't really 'come back' to those games as I don't really game much, but I do miss me some Megaman X5.

That’s a solid choice. The music, the bosses, and the gameplay really made it stand out. Even if you don’t game much now, it’s easy to see why that one sticks with you. It has that perfect mix of challenge and nostalgia.

There were even some emotional moments if I recall, one of the characters going evil or something like that, towards the end. Or some sacrifice being made? Can't really remember now.

Yeah, you’re remembering right. Zero’s storyline had some pretty emotional beats. That twist near the end really stuck with a lot of people. It gave the game more depth than most action titles back then.

Man, I really gotta revisit that game. But not going to rush into it, my life is really chaotic right now. When I sort some things out I'll dedicate an entire night to it, perhaps add some weed to it.

I have a weird one that is a bit old. The game is called the Urbs from the gameboy advance. Bit of a old game but I find myself playing it once a year from the start to finish. Takes around a week but always a great time.

Probably stuff like Mario, Sonic, or old-school GTA — those never get old.

Those games defined a whole era. I still boot up San Andreas sometimes. The soundtrack and chaos never get old.

Exactly! That game was pure magic — the music, the missions, the freedom. Still hits every time.

For real. Nothing today quite captures that same feeling. Even the remasters missed the vibe. It was a perfect mix of chaos and personality.

Exactly, they’ll never recreate that kind of charm again.

Yeah, some things are just timeless. Modern games can be polished, but that raw personality is hard to replicate.

Exactly! That older stuff just had a different kind of soul to it. You can’t fake that kind of charm, no matter how good the graphics get.

Totally. Makes me wonder, do you think any modern games come close to capturing that kind of “soul” or is it all just polish now?
