Many people online swear that it was Sketchers, not Skechers.
Did you know there's no T in the shoe company Skechers?

https://www.skechers.com/

Did you know how small the US, China, and India are?

The maps they teach us are not accurate to actual sizes, they are over-optimized for shape and other factors.

Is this becoming a thread about random facts?

I think I also knew it was spelled Skechers without a T. It just didn't sound right if it did have a T in it.

yeah you inspired me to be a Snapple cap, of which 50% are said to be false - which could be weird if 50% of the caps state that same fact, which would make the other half 100% correct.

I remember learning about this back in high school, when my teacher showed us the true sizes of the different countries and continents we were blown away by how much smaller or bigger they really were compared to how they're shown. It all comes down to power and ego, of course the most powerful countries wanted to be seen as such so they made sure to have their land mass seen much larger than it really is. It's kind of pathetic honestly.

NO, I AM YOUR FATHER.

He never said "Luke I am your father"
like many people might think they remember.

A lot of people also would've had a globe with Australia far away from everything, but it's actually really close to the islands

Here are some other similar false memories:

Many of these are known as the Mandela effect. It's when a large number of people remember something "as it were", but all evidence online suggests the memories are incorrect.

Sex AND the city

1 of the earliest Mandela effects I heard about - BerenSTAIN (not Stein) :

Looney Tunes, not Toons

There is no such thing as Captain Crunch. Only capn, no cap!

This is not something I knew I am not one to wear any of their shoes but I would go to spell it with a T.
