Public, Free, Legal The MalwareBazaar is a public, legal, safe database of known malware samples. Be super careful because there could be active malware files. It is safely setup so that you would need to confirm TOS to download a sample, and also open a .zip, and confirm the password to receive the actual sample file(s). If you run samples on your own personal machine, you risk destroying your user files, operating system, or physical hardware. Be extremely careful. By opening the spoiler & copying the link & removing the spaces in the URL, you are explicitly agreeing to only use samples on machines you are legally authorized to use, and specifically accept all risks, damages, or consequences of using any samples provided by the third-party site below. Spoiler (Click to View) The reason I am sharing this is because it is a great resource for people who are looking to go into cyber defense. You can practice your RE skills, analysis (static or runtime), etc. If you are making your own minifilter, AV, or other defense software, you can test with these samples too.
