Crazy story out of Bengaluru today. Police arrested two people connected to a ₹49 crore hack so about $5.8 million USD against Whizdm Finance, the company behind the MoneyView app.
The hackers went straight through the company’s API, moved money into hundreds of mule accounts, and emptied everything within a few hours. Investigators traced the servers to Dubai, Hong Kong, and Lithuania. Two locals got caught, but the main crew is still out there.
It doesn’t sound like a random attack. They clearly knew the system inside out weak API security, no strong monitoring, and a ready network of money mules lol
