How important is it for an AI company to use the .ai domain extension?
I think it does a good job of immediately identifying itself which could build trust, but it's not a requirement for me personally.
If you want an ai TLD for your brand... Here are fourteen 4-char dictionary word AI domains that are available to register for normal reg price as of right now...
I think my favorites from the list below might be jewy.ai or dabb.ai just for standing out as brand names.

I agree. I think they should use it. I was kind of expecting it to. But seems like the world wants to stick with .coms
