I sometimes cover my laptop camera even when I’m alone, not because I think someone’s watching, but because I know they could.
Do you have any small habits like that which people think are crazy but actually make sense to you?

I physically disable the microphone and cameras on my laptops and smartphones.

I habitually open my task manager and sort the CPU columns to see if some strange process that I haven't seen before is running with high CPU. If so, I immediately launch that Sysinternals TCP viewer and see if it has sent out any suspiciously large amount of data.
I also cover my webcam with a black tape. It's an absurd world when this is considered normal.

I have my browser history and cookies to delete every time I close the browser. Some of my friends make fun of me thinking it's because of porn but there's so much more information in there.

I have a gazillion different passwords and people I know have like three passwords that they alternate on everything, which I've tried to tell them is bad. But as lot more places have bruteforce protection nowadays I suppose.

I keep an external webcam unplugged when not in use.
It is easier to control than trusting software switches.

I was ratted by the Mexican mafia when I was in a mental hospital. They popped up on my PC in a remote chat. Apparently because I was using a cracked version of a RAT, they got me. I think they're still around. I didn't freak out. Police are in my PC too, so yh! XD

I mean, I cover my laptops camera always. I also use completely separate laptop to pay my bills, it is not connected to the same network as my other computers etc.
Being paranoid is damn fun and time consuming. I hate that I love it.

I buy gadget without cameras , mostly old medieval cell phones so I can use safely ..🤣
I don't have cameras on my laptop , I always tunnel my Wi-Fi network , I have a costume made phone case for my phone that covers the back cameras ..
I back up my music on an external hard drive , my work back up on different external hard drive , my personal data on another different external hard drive .. each and every hard drive in its plastic zipper back that is water proof and RFID protected ..
I don't use my personal info anywhere any place , even with people IRL ..
