CONCEPT #1: The Blockchain (The Digital Ledger)
Imagine a transaction ledger that is held by THOUSANDS of people globally, not just a single bank.
Block: Every transaction is recorded in a "Block."
Chain: These blocks are permanently and cryptographically linked together.
This makes it: Transparent (everyone can see) and Tamper-proof (cannot be altered). This is the foundation of decentralization.
CONCEPT #2: Bitcoin (BTC) vs. Altcoins
Bitcoin (BTC) is the first cryptocurrency, designed primarily as a peer-to-peer (P2P) digital currency and a store of value (like "digital gold").
Altcoins are all coins other than Bitcoin (e.g., Ethereum/ETH, Solana/SOL, etc.). Altcoins have more specific purposes, such as building smart contracts or decentralized applications (dApps).
CONCEPT #3: Wallets & Private Keys
A crypto wallet is NOT where your coins are stored; it's a tool to ACCESS your coins on the Blockchain.
Private Key: Your master password. NEVER SHARE IT WITH ANYONE. If you lose it, your assets are gone.
Seed Phrase (Recovery Phrase): A 12/24 word sequence. This is the readable version of your Private Key that you must store securely and offline. This is why you are your own bank
