Wasted Energy & Money - Costanza - Nov 17, 2025
I have wasted 50% of my live savings i have been dcaing alts all year. buying every dip nothing matters. my hair has gone grey and falling out from stress. i feel physically and mentally sick.
Yes iv lost 150k.
I don't know whether to sell or just hold on . Some say yeah ur young but i feel like i'll be dead in a few years from cancer anyway like most people.
Idk what the fuck to do going forward

bought some sui but only lost a few grand on that recently.

If you keep doing something and getting the same results, why not take a step back and reevaluate your decisions? There is nothing wrong with sitting on cash until you figure out the way you're investing and why it's not working.

ADA is great, but it has zero adoption. They have nothing new happening. You can build the greatest project ever but if nobody uses it and there is zero adoption if will fail. ETH and SOL have pros and cons. They are basically Ying and Yang. What one succeeds at the other fails at and vice versa. I recommend getting out of ADA and investing in something related to either of those coins.
My favorite coin currently is ChainLink.
SUI isnt bad, but it was late to the party for this phase of adoption and might fall behind.
The bright side of your situation is that ADA hasnt really fallen much. Its still at .45 cents. So if you swap to another token its kind of a good play.

Man you should've mostly bought Bitcoin, maybe a smaller percentage of your portfolio (10-15%) into alts would've been fine. If it was Bitcoin I would tell you to hold and wait until it inevitably goes back up, probably by 2028 seeing how the market has been behaving, but it's much trickier with alts as some never recover (there's few exceptions such as ETH and SOL).
I'm convinced we are in a bear market now, so that definitely doesn't help. I would hate giving the wrong advice, as you never really know what to expect with crypto, we could be at $150k in a week, or at $50k, or at the same exact price. But looking at all of the market indicators, the sentiment in general, the charts, BTC hitting $89k.. Things aren't looking good, and this is coming from someone who is usually optimistic about cryptos and the market in general, a "bull".

We're on a bullrun baby, and that's true at 60k , 70k, 80k, 90k , or even 89k and 120k and 160k isn't even ATH in my theory
Fuck the bear market, this is just a healthy correction to accumulate wealth and multiply in a continued bull. You'll see :P

Price goes up, price goes down. We're no worse off than we were exactly 1 year ago today.
I watched about half a million dollars in unrealized gains evaporate this year, and it sucks, but big picture we're still moving in the right direction. Just another cycle in crypto.

Time value of money is one of the most fundamental concepts of investing; especially for cryptocurrency. I panic sold a marginal amount of variable at a L and took a hit like others but one thing I firmly believe is that downswings such as is is actually very healthy for BTC.
It comes down to a simple concept that you must remember moving forward. You live and you learn from your mistakes. I am also in a similar boat as you albeit for different reasons than crypto; so I hope you feel better sir.
The ability to make intuitive forecasts based on previous market data, company decisions and even so much as their political affiliation is underestimated by many investors, imho.
If you want, you can also write a letter to the Republicans for stalling the bill within the United States for so long of which led to millions needing food and rent assistance.
I love having a "pro crypto," government although I doubt the majority of them even know how cryptocurrency works nor will we see politicians who do for many years. With this said, I loved Trump but he fucked a lot of people and I firmly believe this has more connection to the macroeconomic state of the market.
It'll be rebound but I have NEVER seen it take such a hit during this time of the year; hence why I brought up the importance of TVM in crypto. Reading companies financial statements are also important now more than ever.

But if you just have 50K in a solid investment over next 5-10, you're most likely going to see a return equal or higher than your 150K loss

But this isn't a guarantee, just a thought. Don't stress too much man, maybe losing 150k now will save you from losing 1.5M later.

This is true, much of the value I've accrued over the last 2.5 years has been through building and investing in builders rather than simply hodling tokens. That and high yield defi plays.

Stop buying alts. It's a desperate move and your odds of picking the right one are incredibly low in reality. Be patient, rotate into Bitcoin before you lose even more, wait, be happy.
I believe in $10m+ BTC at some point, no kidding.
At that price :
0.001 BTC = $10,000
0.01 BTC = $100,000
0.1 BTC = $1,000,000
You get the idea. Invest in the scarcest asset the world has ever known, not some marketing race to suck in as many suckers as possible. I am rooting for you sir.
