A hobby you tried and instantly quit - sharn - Nov 30, 2025

I tried playing the violin and sounded like a haunted door [BRAND NAME REMOVED].
That was enough.

Have you ever tried something new and quit fast?

Making videogames. I figured I'd rather stick to playing them than making it.

Quit guitar pretty fast because I have poor hand eye coordination and for some reason the kids in the guitar class were a batch of nasty bullies.

Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball.

Never was interested in those things. Just wanted to please my father.

Turns out I am pretty good at Billiard, Snooker and Darts.

I got into photography, but almost immediately my friends started inviting me to their kids’ birthdays, christenings, and even weddings, hoping I’d shoot the events for free.

Eventually, I ended up selling all my gear.

Hahahaha, the door [BRAND NAME REMOVED] analogy cracked me up 😄

I tried to learn playing electric guitar years ago but I couldn't get any distinguishable tones out of it, everything sounded the same so I lost interest.

I also failed to learn to speak German, mostly due to the very long words. Absolutely impossible for a non polyglot. My memory is very short. 😄

Not that much. I nowadays just go to my local Airsoft field, and I like to hike also.

I wanted to sleep around trying to imitate my friends, but after being with different girls, I realized I was getting emotionally attached. I honestly don’t understand how some guys can do it without feelings. So I decided to stop, lol.

The Kalimba. I saw some youtube videos of people playing it and thought it would be easy to learn. In the end I had no patience to learn it. I gave it to my little brother after I quit.
