About
Many users primarily browse HF from their mobile devices and the mobile experience isn't as smooth as accessing the site via desktop.
I created HFX Mobile in an attempt to improve your HF mobile browsing experience, along with porting features from the desktop browser extension, HFX.
Check out how to install this script to your phone along with current features below.
Please post if you are interested, plan to install, or enjoy the extension!
How to Install
- Download and install the app "Stay for Safari"
- Enable the extension in Safari by navigating to "Settings > Apps > Safari > General > Extensions > Stay". Enable "Allow Extension".
- Install this extension by opening the following link in Safari and tap "Install":

- Activate the "HFX Mobile" script so it will be enabled the next time you visit HF in Safari

I tried running some userscripts in the past on my iphone, i think the extension was called hyperweb before :D

I reached out to xadamxk about the mobile version because the desktop version was the only one out there. He was so generous to make it for me! Even though the first versions had some bugs, I put in a lot of effort testing them while he worked on fixing everything. That’s how HFX Mobile came to be.
I really enjoy using it on my phone because I always use HF on my phone. HF was incomplete without it.

Works great on iPhone, but for iPad its a different story. The User info on posts is misaligned, see the image below.

On iPad, you can change for websites to use the desktop version instead of the mobile version, which i've set, So if I was running the desktop version of HFX It would proabably look fine.
Another thing I noticed is that if you use HF by adding it as a web app to your home screen, the extension doesn't work, only if you're using Safari. I'm guessing extensions don't run at all on web apps, just the Safari app itself.
I use HF on desktop anyway but I wanted to see how the mobile version looked.

Those mobile features are intended for mobile resolutions so I’m not surprised it doesn’t format correctly on a bigger iPad (desktop version).
I’m not familiar with how the userscript manager works, but it sounds like your guess is correct. I’m guessing it doesn’t get loaded in that scenario.

Alright, second thread and the second feature from you that is damn interesting.
The experience is sooo damn smooth. I often browse Hackforums on my iPhone and it’s honestly not that great, but this extension makes navigation and posting super comfortable.
