Choose your top 3 main Linux distros - aerohacker - Dec 27, 2025
What would be the main Linux distros, to learn more about the system from different aspects?!
Example
- Slackware - init + compiling + dependencies
- Debian - systemd + stable + apt + a lot of packages + base to many distros
- Arch - systemd + rolling release + pacman + aur + build the os installing all that you want + configuration

Arch — minimal system, manual configuration, rolling release, pacman/AUR
Ubuntu — apt, systemd, desktop/server, widely used in real-world environments
Kali — cybersecurity, penetration testing, networking, forensics, security tools
