She impersonated an 11-year-old girl on a Zoom call but girl was dead - The Pact - Feb 1, 2026

A woman testified that she was asked to impersonate an 11-year-old Connecticut girl during a Zoom call with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) The 11 year old's body was later found stuffed in a 40-gallon bin.

Jacklyn Goulet claimed that she did not know Mimi was already dead at the time as she said she was told that Mimi was with an aunt in another state. She was told this lie by Karla Garcia the girl's mother.

A medical examiner ruled Mimi's cause of death as fatal child abuse with starvation and the manner of death as homicide.

The girl weighed only 26 to 27 lbs. when she died, according to an affidavit reviewed by PEOPLE.

Karla Garcia’s boyfriend, Jonatan Nanita is believed to have murdered the child and Garcia and Nanita are charged with murder in Mimi's death.

Sheesh, that's crazy. I would feel a little bad if she truly didn't know... but also, why are you impersonating an 11 year old girl to DCF?

Sounds like they need to really investigate whether she could've known or not, but there should be some sort of charge. If not murder, than obstruction, or another charge.

This Jacklyn had to know that something was not right.

The articles make it sound like the mom gave Jacklyn a sob story about how DCF were unfair and would take her daughter when they wouldn't just accept she was visiting her aunt in another state.

Doesn't make sense since she could still have a Zoom call from another state.

DCF or CPS shouldn't be accepting any "my camera's broken bull sh**. They should say "a Zoom call meeting requires camera ON."
