Thoughts on xianxia/wuxia manhua & novels - looking for good reads - Au Jus Demon - Feb 9, 2026
For a while now I’ve been reading quite a few Chinese novels and manhua. Something about the cultivation systems and sometimes deeper philosophical Daoism has always intrigued me.
I will say tho it’s sometimes hard to find good work when some of them are thousands of chapters long and reuse the same troupes over and over. But recently I’ve been reading a series by an author called “Eagle Eats Chicken”, and it’s refreshing when an author adds some fresh air into a genre that can otherwise be stale.
Has anyone else read some good xianxia or wuxia lately, or have any favorites you’d recommend?
