you can drop the macchanger step when deauthenticating a client.
aireplay changes your mac to the string following -a,deauths from any mac address
other than the AP hosting that client will be ignored.

Great post very helpful for beginners! I also suggest looking into using WiFite, easily accessible in Kali linux & makes things quick.

That's a really great tool as well! I decided to use aircrack-ng because I didn't knew hxcdump existed, and to help people learn about EAPOL, though Wifite is really great as well!

Look into AngryOxide, an absolute goat right now for WiFi testing. Amazing tool.
