Landlords' mistake with tour times - Hackers - Feb 23, 2026 I've noticed this a lot over the years, but am looking into places and noticing the problem still exists... Landlords only offering M-F tours during business hours. Get fucked. If you are a landlord, you should be looking for the tenants who want to tour in evening or on a weekend. Why make potential tenants take a day off from work? It feels like this wonky weekday touring schedule is best for people who are free during the workday. Successful people with careers don't want to take time off from work to tour a place that they might not like when the main person who benefits is the landlords... They should take time off to convince us to come, not vice versa. One might say it filters the list down to only the tenants who can afford to take time off from work, but I disagree. I could take time off from work, but I don't *want to*. I'm of the mind that landlords should cater to me and convince me to rent with them. I have plenty of options and don't need to beg for an apartment, so I shouldn't need to beg for a tour either. They should cater to my schedule, not the other way around. RE: Landlords' mistake with tour times - Charlie Sheen - Feb 23, 2026 There's a lot of landlords and rental companies who started setting up digital locks and they send you a temporary code that works just for that day. They all should start using that. Mine doesn’t do that. Standard locks and have to be escorted by a saleswoman (yes they earn commission) I have a showroom apt across from me and another on the bottom floor below me. Luckily it’s quite AF and they almost never show them 😂😂 the maids clean them like once a month I notice and just basically “clean” while watching tv 😂 RE: Landlords' mistake with tour times - Hackers - Feb 23, 2026 (Feb 23, 2026 07:59 PM)Charlie Sheen Wrote: There's a lot of landlords and rental companies who started setting up digital locks and they send you a temporary code that works just for that day. MLS does this but not custom listings or the complexes |
