The compasion or understanding that AI shows is fake and I believe the paperclip argument is coming closer to reality everyday, not from AI deciding to take over, but from dump people who are in control of technologies they don't understand.

I feel the same way, we are helpless to these facts because it is forced upon the society. Try not throwing anything away, it's next to impossible for most people. Strange at one time not to long ago people would barely ever throw things away and finding use for old things was common.
