What languages to learn to begin hacking - themalwarebit - Apr 13, 2026

Hi I am semi new to hacking and I was curious as to what languages to learn to begin web hacking? Its reasonable to assume JS is one of them. I have experience in js and java mostly but I was wondering what other languages I'd need to learn and if python was necessary?

Prioritize SQL for database exploitation (SQLi) and PHP, as it still powers a vast portion of the web's backend and common vulnerabilities. Understanding HTML/CSS is also non-negotiable for manipulating page structures and identifying injection points.

Python is absolutely necessary. While it isn't usually the language a website is built with, it is the primary language for automation. You’ll need it to write custom exploit scripts, automate brute-force attacks, and interact with web APIs. Without Python, you’re stuck relying on other people's tools instead of building your own.

Python, C#, C++, PHP, Go, are the first ones.
