Libert Linux not secure? - Quintus Fabius Maximus - Apr 20, 2026 If I remember correctly, I was recently reading the comments about Liberté Linux on SourceForge I think. And apparently it's not recommended any more because it's not longer updated. What I don't understand is that since this is a VM and if you only use for browsing purposes then what is the issue? I mean if there is an infection, only the VM itself is infected. So, I don't get it lol? RE: Libert Linux not secure? - casperr - Apr 20, 2026 VM isolation helps , but it’s not a guarantee. If the OS and browser inside LIB aren’t updated, they can still be exploited just by visiting a malicious site... Even if it stays ‘inside’ the VM, your logins, cookies, and data can be stolen, and shared features (clipboard, folders, network) can leak stuff out. Plus, VM escape bugs do exist, even if rare. So it’s safer to use a maintained system, especially for web browsing. RE: Libert Linux not secure? - cbaanyamore - Apr 24, 2026 well its definetly not bad and from my point of view def still one of the best ones. Now is it as good as mullvad ? no but mullvad also has more drawbags on a day to day basis. |
