cyber attack on nuclear weapons plants - blindercasd - Apr 24, 2026

Hello everyone, I'm new to HF.

sorry for my english, but

I have been in cybersecurity for a while and a while ago I saw a cyber attack on nuclear weapons plants and I asked myself, how did they do it?

They use some automatic script or how they manage to do just the attack and have the code complete the rest without the attackers knowing how the base/code of the nuclear weapons plants is structured. If I remember correctly, I think they used a computer worm, I have not yet seen the code of one.

I think that the only incident in history like the one that you describe is the Stuxnet worm that was used on the Natanz uranium enrichment facility. It is one of the most famous examples of a computer worm ever. The computers and PLCs were airgapped, so it's been suggested that USB drives containing Stuxnet were spread nearby, and someone plugged one into a computer.
