Most people think financial markets move because the 'value' of the asset has changed. The value may have changed but the market movement does not move as a reflection of that, the market moves simply because people have moved money in response to the new sentiment. As such, alot of complex dynamics are involved in any financial market. I recommend the book: [deleted], it gets into detail on how inefficient the markets and how 'insiders' make the first moves.
