Favorite stoner movies? - Mercury - May 12, 2026

Hello everyone,

Curious what everybody's favorite stoner movies are. Harold and Kumar go to White Castle takes gold in my book. I've always felt that this movie was executed very well despite only having a $9,000,000 budget in 2004. I didn't know this, but the proceeds of this movie soared far beyond the initial box office take once they released it on DVD. Coincidentally, I have the DVD and have had it since probably 2005, lol.

I think what did it for me is how arguably normal those two guys came off. I really wasn't a fan of the sequels but I wouldn't say they were bad.

One can hope my friend. I would lose my shit for another installment.

I member, the cheeseburger trip - in more ways than 1. Have you seen the other H&K though I guess this one was a more realistic production. The Freddy Krueger lookalike is kind of a turn-off though I guess it's tough to judge what happens in them lone, dimlit backwoods.

Been a while since I got to smoke & watch, but I have to say How High is one of my faves. Cheech & Chong, could never finish any of their releases cause I'd always doze off trying to outsmoke the old chimneys. Pineapple Express is where we all learned to cherish the true meaning behind a grow-op, underground lighting wire set-up and how to draw profit from being a fucktard who gets high on their own potplant.

The one that hits hardest though was with the two Callie dudes who were running a HUUUUUUGE legal and sometimes unlawful Marijuana distribution network based out of the West Coast, who later got involved with Mexican Cartels(?) and were forced to behead a bunch of other criminals. Had like a corrupt cop and Blake Lively outshined all the other blondies (she my upper Westend queenie, though less bitchy than Blair smh). And yes, I'm high officer, how didya know

You're absolutely right about the first being the most realistic in terms of setting and plot. Did you know that the "Freddy Krueger lookalike" is actually the same gentleman that plays Elliot Stabler on Law and Order SVU? I couldn't believe it when I learned who that actor really was, lol. I have seen them all and I'm not a huge fan of Guantanamo Bay but I can tolerate the Christmas installment.

Someone already mentioned mine, but How High with Method man in it is the one.

Dude, where's my car?

I agree with others in this thread, Pineapple Express and Harold and Kumar definitely take the top spots. Grandmas Boy deserves some love also.
