Father Left Baby in Bathtub Filled with Water While He Scrolled on His Phone. - The Pact - May 31, 2026
The infant's father, 20-year-old Seffan Mederious, allegedly told police that he was in another room in the apartment, scrolling on his phone. When he returned to the bathroom, he found his daughter floating in the water, according to the arrest report.
Mederious then went to the home of a relative, who called 911? What the hell?
When police arrived on the scene, Mr. Mederious had fled the residence and was found hiding at yet another nearby relative’s residence.
According to hospital staff the twenty year old didn’t stick around to help police and firefighters, and he didn’t respond to the hospital's phone calls to find out how his baby girl was doing.
Rob Sanders, the commonwealth's attorney for Kenton County said "He felt it more important to run away from the scene."
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital staff said the baby girl is expected to make a full recovery.

All the other ones I've read like this the baby didn't survive and the "fathers" were gaming or watching porn. I get being distracted and the baby gets into something, but if you've run a fucking bath what kind of moron leaves a baby to take a bath on their own, but a number of men have run the bath and left the baby in it while they do something on their phone or laptop.
Some babies have a stronger ability to survive this kind of thing than others.

The article makes it sound like he left the baby in a regular tub too. And some of these morons act like the baby can just be left to take a bath by themselves. Maybe it was a baby bath but if you have a baby bath I mean you could even stand next to it scrolling on your dumb phone. He didn't want to get his phone wet?
