Anthropic announces "Rare disease research grants" - Oh_Well - Jul 21, 2026

That's an awesome program.

Although, as a common devil's advocate, I would say how much data they will grab from serious early research and sell it to big pharmaceutical companies.

Quote:Today, we are sharing a focused call for applications centered specifically on rare genetic diseases. Accepted applicants will receive up to $50,000 in Claude credits over six months, with the goal of building a community of researchers looking into how AI can reshape our understanding of rare disease. This program has two tracks: one for scientists doing basic research, and another for early-stage biotechs working on speeding up clinical development for rare diseases.

Yep. It's similar with energy companies, but hey, electric cars are the revolution, lol.

I do believe if these models are fed enough and learn enough they will easily cure cancer though. Like how hard can it be to stop cells from rapidly growing....idk im not a doctor.
