What keeps you coming back to HF? - m1000 - Sep 15, 2026
I think in general forums are going to make a comeback. Social media algorithms are too fast and you don't retain anything. Forums have always been the best place to really slow down, connect with others, and actually learn something. Some of you guys have made some really informative posts that help me further my education, something I'm quite grateful for. This is the place I like to unwind at night.
I'm active here daily now, and that's because there's just so much to learn. It's easy to ask questions, and everyone's been pretty friendly. Haven't made any friends yet but I'd love to. I just read the Roadmap thread and got pretty excited because there's still so much in the works; and the staff here are doing an excellent job of delivering. I really want to start learning more about being a better webmaster and pick up some programming skills that I'll need for adding site features.
What are some of the reasons you keep coming back when you hop online?

The general convo chat, even tho its dead from time to time at night I always find a few people to talk with and have very interesting conversations with!

Hackforums seems real. It feels comfy here.

I just learned about the general convo chat after getting an invite from someone last night. I'll definitely keep it open more often and hop in! Interesting chat last night...

Keep posting, and "Heart" other peoples posts as you go.. Stanley (HF's AI helper) will likely bless you with some bytes if you stay active and engage via posting/hearting.
