The Emotional Rollercoaster of Winning and Losing - Dembe Zuma - Oct 1, 2026

Does anyone else feel like gambling messes with your emotions way more than you expect?

When you’re winning, everything feels amazing.
You feel confident, excited, and like you’re completely in control.
Sometimes it even feels like the next win is almost guaranteed.

But when you start losing, the feeling changes so fast.
You get frustrated, stressed, and suddenly all you want is to win back what you lost.
For me, that emotional switch is probably the craziest part.

It’s strange how quickly your mood can depend on what happens in the next few seconds.

Do you guys feel the same way when you’re winning versus losing?

Gambling absolutely can mess with your emotions and to great extremes as you described. Does it surprise me that's the case? Not in the slightest. It makes complete sense honestly and especially the more money you're going up or down when gambling. Still, it is crazy to think about the emotional swings it can bring over you.
