Whats the local opinion of super smash bros as a series and overall game quality?

I loved the original as well as Melee. Played them both a ton and they were some of the best games to play against friends. I know at least one, maybe 2 more games in the series released after Melee, but I've never played them. After the GameCube which is of course what Melee was on, I stopped playing Nintendo consoles. I'm sure any new games in the series were just as good if not better than those I played though.

Never was much of a fighting game player myself, but you have to give some respect to Smash. It's one of those franchises that's managed to stay relevant for years, and there's clearly a reason people keep coming back to it.

Ever since it's first release, I feel like it's been a staple for Nintendo honestly. A solid fighting game and that brings so many of the characters from your most popular IPs together? Yeah I mean it makes sense why it did so well lol. It looks like the last one that released was in 2018, but I also see that it's fully expected a new one will release in the next year or 2. I can't imagine a world where they don't do another. It's one of those franchises for a company that is actually guaranteed money.
