Smart home - Fish - Oct 11, 2026 Anyone have a smart home? I’m thinking about setting up homeassistant as all the different apps have been annoying me lately. RE: Smart home - Bastille - Oct 11, 2026 I have few intelligent/connected things at home, especially lights. I tried to use HomeAssistant but didn't find it very intuitive, besides I wanted to configure something related to AI so I can talk with to turn on/off the lights and change the color or the intensity, but it was still a project under development at the moment, don't know if they released something like that since. It's not that annoying for me for the time being because I use only 1 app, and I can do a lot with Siri right now, but in the future I'll definitely have to switch to HA because of the different brands and apps RE: Smart home - Charlie Sheen - Oct 12, 2026 I had a house built years back and I installed all these smart home features in it. Hallways, closets and garage were motion sensor. All the other lights were voice activated. I had Alexa and Google setup to everything, the security cameras, some appliances, television, fans, air conditioning. It was really cool back then but nowadays I'll do a smart thermostat and that's about it. Makes a huge difference being able to schedule it all from your phone. Other things are there for convince, ie presence sensor to automatically turn on and off lights. Can come in handy at times RE: Smart home - Sift - Oct 12, 2026 Don’t think I would personally setup a smart home never know what those companies are adding extra to their product for surveillance. I installed a smart lock in my parents place and it’s been convenient. Don’t need a key to get in and out and it auto locks. I wanted to install one in my place, however, my door isn’t compatible with one unfortunately :/ Smart locks are great, but at the same time a security risk RE: Smart home - Charlie Sheen - Oct 12, 2026 (Oct 12, 2026 02:03 AM)Fish Wrote: Yes!
