What's the saddest realization you've had in life? - Yanix - Oct 14, 2026

I think one of the saddest things I've realized as I get older is that no matter how much we want things to stay the same, they never really do.

Friends you used to see almost every day become people you barely talk to. Your parents are getting older, your kids are growing up so fast and sometimes you're too busy dealing with everyday responsibilities to even notice how much time has passed.

I guess what hits me the most is knowing that there are moments in life we'll never get to experience again and we don't even realize it until they're gone.

What's one sad realization about life that really hit you as you got older?

I agree, some things just aren't the same as they used to be

Times have changed and while some things have improved, there are still plenty of things I wish had stayed the same.😎

Nothing is forever including the ones closest to us.

Yeah, nothing lasts forever, which is why we should cherish every moment with the people we love while they're still around. ❤️

Also that we are racing to a finish line with no reason to want to reach the end quickly.

Yep, life isn't a race and sometimes we're so focused on reaching our goals that we forget to enjoy the journey along the way.

You can buy a lot of things, but time isn't one.

Exactly! Money can always be earned again, but time once lost is gone forever. That's why we should make the most of every moment.

One thing that has his me recently is that you can try as hard as possible for a very long time and it still may never work out...
Others can do the same but have different connections in life or be setup differently and achieve all that they dreamed of.
Life is not fair and everyone knows that saying but it really is true.

Agreed. Success often relies on more than just effort. Great point.

I learned that trust takes years to build but only seconds to destroy.
Even when you forgive someone, things may never feel exactly the same.
