Why does it feel like common sense is becoming less common every year? Some people really make you wonder how they function day to day.

I think social media / smartphones has a lot to do with it. People get their algorithm fined based on their preferences and could start thinking this is normal, as they see a lot of content related and a lot of people commenting and liking publications.
Also that developed countries have been safe and comfortable for a long time, so awareness regressed a lot.

I feel now tech does all the thinking, and everyone lives in their own bubble. cause when you never have to figure things out, those instincts atrophy. People aren't dumber, the world just stopped requiring them to be smart about everyday things.

Its so hard to interact with anyone born after 2000... most of them lack common sense, spatial awareness and everything else... not sure what it is. I mean not to say its only them since theres plenty of older people like that too but its more common with the 2000s age group
I would say maybe growing up in a digital world did that and then COVID on top.. really no idea

It’s the ones born after 2003 that seems completely lost.
