"American Idol" singer Crybaby Caleb gets life without parole for murder. - The Pact - Oct 21, 2026
During the murder trial of Crying Caleb Flynn, prosecutors played AI-generated love songs that Flynn wrote for his mistress.
Caleb Flynn, often mocked as "Crying Caleb" for crying a lot was sentenced in Ohio to life in prison without parole after a jury convicted him of murdering his sleeping wife, Ashley Flynn.
Caleb, a former crying music pastor in Ohio who appeared briefly on “ American Idol ” was sentenced Oct. 5.
Judge's Statement: Judge Jeannine Pratt called his actions abhorrent and noted layers of deceit, manipulation, and cruelty.
Alleigha Botner revealed an 18-month affair with Flynn and shared text messages where Caleb kept calling his wife a douche and wrote that he needed Ashley to die.
Nine Guilty Counts: The jury convicted him of aggravated murder, three murder counts, two felonious assaults, and three tampering-with-evidence charges.
Prison Terms: He received life without parole for aggravated murder, plus additional years for tampering and firearm enhancements.
Prosecution Case: State lawyers proved he shot Ashley twice in the head in Tipp City, Ohio, while she slept, then staged a fake break-in.
Daughter's Letter: Alyssa Flynn shared through Jill Smith that she would not visit him and said he could not love anyone else.
Crying heavily before the judge, Caleb Flynn apologized for past lies but denied killing his wife.
As a family member read a statement written by his daughter Ava, Flynn sobbed uncontrollably as a pile of tissues grew on the defense table in front of him. At one point, it appeared he might fall over.
“Mommy was the perfect person,” her statement said. “The absolute perfect person. What did she ever do to you to make you hate her so much?”

I think there's a very small chance that he's telling the truth... I hope justice takes its course.

He bawled his eyes out and even though his daughters asked him to stop lying after he got convicted he said [while crying] that he would continue to fight for his innocence and that he did not kill his wife.
But like he used his own gun although they haven't found his gun yet. He told the 911 operator that she'd been shot twice in the back of the head; but he hadn't seen her shot and forensics said he couldn't have known that from her injuries that it was exactly twice.
They found 107,000 texts between him and a 21 year old half his age in which they talked about killing his wife and in which they kept calling his wife a doucebag over and over and saying they hate her.
They found two AI performed love songs he sent to his lover that the prosecutors played in court and there are many photos of the jury and even the victim's family trying not to laugh during the AI love songs.
